Betty Thomas Jones, age 86, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Benjamin Franklin Jones, and her parents, Arnold Elmore and Clara Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter, Frankie J. Sutton and husband Billy of La Grange; son, Freddy Jones and wife Marcia of Beulaville; sister-in-law, Jean Thomas of FL; two grandchildren, Alex Rhodes and wife Lanna, Kristie Cavanaugh and husband Darrell; five great grandchildren, Nicholas Cavanaugh, Bethany Rhodes, Zoe Cavanaugh, Benjamin Rhodes, and Genevieve Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL  60611.

Mary Eleanor Weston Kennedy, age 72, of Beulaville died Sunday, February 17, 2019, at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Lizzie Mae and
G. W. “Tinker” Weston, and brother, George “Buddy” Weston. 

Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her husband Jerry R. Kennedy of Beulaville; two daughters, Melisa K. Browning and husband James of Richlands, and Jeri Denise K. Humphries and husband Wayne of Beulaville; son, Jonathan R. Kennedy and wife Robin of Potters Hill; three sisters, Julia Dean Smith and husband Tommy of Richlands, Virginia Lanier and husband Harvey of Kenansville, Ida Mae Loriso and husband Tony of Maryland; sister-in-law, Carol Weston of Potters Hill, and brother Bryan Weston and wife Karen of Mount Olive; and six grandchildren, James Alex Browning, III and wife Christina, Megan E. Ray and husband Austin, Tyler C. Humphries, Trevan J. Humphries, Trista S. Humphries, and Kaylyn Bree.

Hidi Roby Link, age 54, of Beulaville, born on September 12, 1964 in Tooele, UT, left her earthly body for eternal life on December 29, 2018. 

She is survived by her spouse, William Link; daughter Rashelle Humphrey (Johnny) and children Brayden, Brooklyn, Bentley, Braelynn; daughter Brandy Hardin (Matt) and children Kelseigh and Landon; and daughter McKayla Link.  She is also survived by siblings Barb Scheftner, Debby Toledo, Ricky Hansen, Diana Leaf, Anne Quinn, Jim Roby and Justin Roby.  Hidi touched many additional hearts and lives during her lifetime. 

Hidi is preceded in death by her mother, Beverly; her father, John and stepmother Judy; and her grandparents. 

Celebration of life service will be on January 6 at 3 PM at Serenity Funeral Home in Beulaville with visitation following the service.  A graveside memorial service will be January 7 at 10 AM at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Pauline Cavenaugh Brown, age 88, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Rex Hospital
in Raleigh.

Mrs. Brown is survived by two daughters, Iris Lynn Corley and husband Colonel (Ret) Jerry Corley of Melbourne, FL, and Margaret Sloan of Chinquapin; brother J. T. Cavenaugh of Pink Hill; three grandchildren Clint Sloan of Chinquapin, Justin Sloan and wife Amanda of Spring Hill, TN, Chris Wise and wife Kelli of Miami, FL; and seven great grandchildren Austin, Briana, Brooke, Eliza, Esther, Ezekiel, and Tyler.

The family will also receive visitors at Pauline’s house begining Thurday night, December 13th.
