Kristy Smith Sanderson, age 51, died Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. She is survived by her husband, Norwood Sanderson, Jr. of Chinquapin; daughter, Ashley Sanderson Miller and husband Peter of Clayton; mother, Annette Smith of Chinquapin; mother in law, Ethel Sanderson; sister Kimberly Disieno and husband Mike of Leland; sister in law, Marsha Pierson and husband Doug; grandchildren Garrett Miller and Scarlett Miller; nieces and nephews, Savannah Dougherty, Meredith Goodman, Bradley Pierson, Brooke Tyndall, and Kayla Tyndall.

Brian Chase, age 50, died Friday, December 11, 2020 at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.  The family will have a private graveside service. 

Brian is survived by his wife, Melissa Miller Chase of Chinquapin; daughters, Kayleigh Chase of Chinquapin, Kristian Chase Long and husband Wesley of Richlands; son, Donovan Chase of Chinquapin; parents, Donald and Brenda Chase of Chinquapin; and two grandchildren, Zane Chase and Anna Long.

Hazel Brown Hines, age 88, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at home.  She is preceded in death by her husband I.J. Hines and daughter Susan Colvin.  Mrs. Hines is survived by her daughter, Debbie Barnett of Beulaville; sons, Jim Hines of Oxford, PA, Larry Hines of Rose Hill; sister, Gladys Jarman of Beulaville; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Judith T. Byrd, 78 of Fountain, NC passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Judy was the daughter of Jay and Lottie Thomas from Beulaville, NC. She is survived by her sister, Myra Ann McLawhorn, her daughters, Tina Evans and Sheila Staffelbach all of Greenville, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She taught in the public school system for a little over 30 years. During that time, she served as a high school teacher, yearbook editor and department chair. Upon retirement she began traveling with her sister, oldest brother and sister in law across the U.S. and Canada. She enjoyed documenting their travels and family events through photography. She loved God and her church and was active in many aspects of service and worship. In addition, she enjoyed reading, being outside and going to the beach.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am and a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 am at Fountain Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. The graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm at East Duplin Memorial Gardens in Beulaville, NC.
