Hazel Jenkins Lanier, age 78, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington, NC.  She was preceded in death by her husband Rashie Lanier.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at East Duplin Memorial Gardens in Beulaville.

Mrs. Lanier is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hood and husband Chris of Wilmington; sisters, Betty Thompson of Richlands, Marie Marshburn and husband Gene of Shallotte; brothers Duland Jenkins of Beulaville, Doug Jenkins and wife Annette of Richlands; grandchildren, Elizabeth DiPinto and husband Graham, Britton Hood, Ada Hood; and special friend Hosea Horne, Jr. of Richlands.

Harold “Hal” Anderson III, age 55, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at home.  He is preceded in death by his grandmother Luella Patterson and husband Bo; grandfather Harold Anderson; mother Sandra McCoy; and sister Mardee. 

Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Angie Lynn Anderson of Magnolia; son, Kyle Spencer Anderson of Wilmington; father, Harold Anderson Jr. of TN; adoptive parents Harold and Frances Glaettli of VA; sister, Pam Ellenberger of MD; brother Todd Glaettli; niece, Nicole; nephew, Travis; and two granddogs, Jethro and Storm.

Emory Hale Thigpen, age 77, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Lower Cape Fear Life Care in Wilmington.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Thigpen Deal.   A private memorial will be held.

Mr. Thigpen is survived by his wife, Carol Irvin Thigpen of Beulaville; and two brothers, Joseph Quinn Thigpen and Malcolm Earl Thigpen both of Beulaville.

Catherine Baysden Stroud, age 81, died Sunday, December 27, 2020 at UNC Lenoir Hospital.  She is preceded in death by her sons, Ronnie and Ronald Stroud; grandchild, Bryan Griffin; and parents Letha Louise and Junius Johnson Baysden. She was a caregiver for thirty years at the Caswell Center in Kinston.

Mrs. Stroud is survived by her daughter, Patricia Stroud of Kinston; grandchildren, Ryan Griffin, Tyler Griffin, and Brandon Stroud; great grandchild, Maddox Stroud; sister, Lillian B. Stroud of Kinston; and brother, James Baysden of Athens, Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, Norwood Sanderson, Jr. of Chinquapin; daughter, Ashley Sanderson Miller and husband Peter of Clayton; mother, Annette Smith of Chinquapin; mother in law, Ethel Sanderson; sister Kimberly Disieno and husband Mike of Leland; sister in law, Marsha Pierson and husband Doug; grandchildren Garrett Miller and Scarlett Miller; nieces and nephews, Savannah Dougherty, Meredith Goodman, Bradley Pierson, Brooke Tyndall, and Kayla Tyndall.
