Hunter Joe Brown, age 61 died Friday, October 8, 2021 in Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.  He is preceded in death by his parents H. J. and Martha Brown.

Mr. Brown is survived by his sister, Rachel Kennedy of Beulaville; brother Jeff Brown and wife Marda of Burgaw, nephews, Shane Kennedy and wife Amy of Moncure, Derek Kennedy and wife Jusyl of Beeville, TX, Jeff Brown Jr. of Boiling Springs, Tony Brown of Union, NJ; nieces Candice Sheperson and husband Neil, Deidra Brown and Brian; great nieces and nephews, Levi, Jake, Ian, and Xander.

Debra Brinson Pierce, age 65, died Friday, October 1, 2021, in Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Mrs. Pierce is survived by her husband, Anthony T. Pierce of Beulaville; sisters, Sue Brinson Patrick of Virginia, Wanda Brinson Brown of Beulaville, Cheryl Brinson Fountain of Chinquapin; nieces, Suzanne Drake and husband John, Karen Jackson and husband Jarrett, Valeria Batts and husband Matthew; nephew, Ryan Southerland and wife Jessie; great niece and nephews, Justin Moore, Will Jackson, Zach Jackson, Jonah Southerland, Devin Southerland, Addie Filomena, and Rex Batts.

Jerry May Thigpen, age 85, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Myrna Thigpen, parents, Evelyn and Orvis Thigpen, brothers, Murphy and Benny Thigpen and special friend Phyllis Trott. 

Mr. Thigpen was a teacher for 36 years, a driver’s education instructor for 57 years, and served as Athletic Director and coach during his career at East Duplin High School.  He also served his country in the U. S. Army.

Mr. Thigpen is survived by his daughter, Bea Lanier of Raleigh, son, Kirk Thigpen of Beulaville, and three grandchildren.

James Haywood Fountain, age 91, died Thursday, September 2, 2021 at home.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Regina Thigpen Fountain.

Mr. Fountain is survived by his daughter, Leah Zanetta of Midlothian, VA; son, Keith Alan Fountain of Choccolocco, AL; sister Loraine Stroud of Richlands, brother Dallas Ray Fountain of Wallace; four grandchildren, Aryn, Ashley, Kyle, Morgan; and two great grandchildren, Madison, and Payton.
