Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Wanda Jones of Wallace; sons; David Jones of Wallace, Robert Jones of Wallace; sisters, Doris Jones, Shelby Jones; brothers, Casey Jones, and Mark Jones.

Luther Gus King, age 83, died Friday, September 2, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Mr. King is survived by his wife, Paula Evans King of Beulaville; son, Luther Paul King of Irmo, SC; sister, Lucile K. Hatcher of Beulaville; and two grandchildren Kate and Trevor.

Frances Ives Maready, 91, passed away at home on Friday, August 26, 2022 surrounded by her loving children, Jay and Lucinda. She left this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Frances was born on October 19, 1930 in Craven County, and was the daughter of the late Francis Hibbs Ives and Julia Louise Watson Ives. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Robert “Bob” Dunn Maready; her siblings, Henry Earl Ives, Marvin Ives, Mary Louise Ives Brown, Rachel Ives Powell and Patricia “Pat” Ann Ives Teachey. Surviving to cherish Frances’ memory are her devoted children, Jay B. Maready and wife Tiffany of Wilmington, Lucinda M. Crawford and husband John of Kenansville; grandchildren, Ives A. Maready of Raleigh and Ivana T. Maready of Wilmington; step grandchildren, Ian R. Crawford, wife Robin of Charleston, Aubrey C. Phillips and husband Austin of Charleston; step grandchildren, Colin, Chloe, Madison and Crawford.
Frances was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family. Frances and her husband, Bob, had a plant nursery at their home in Wallace for many years. She was fond of saying, “Bob did the talking and I did the selling”. She enjoyed tending to her rose garden, cooking, taking walks and watching the birds visit her many birdfeeders.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at Kenansville Baptist Church in Kenansville, NC with Aaron Smith, Senior Pastor, Kenansville Baptist Church and Powel Sykes, Senior Pastor, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Burlington, NC.

Sherry Dawn Taylor Luffman, age 65, died Friday, July 15, 2022 from pancreatic cancer surrounded by her loving family.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Elden “Eddie” H. Luffman, Jr. of Jacksonville; daughters, Aimee Luffman and Laura Stitzer, both of Jacksonville; son, Christopher Luffman of Jacksonville; mother, Sonja Taylor of Carthage; brother Artis L. Taylor, Jr. of Lumberton; and two grandchildren. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Artis L. Taylor, Sr and her sister, Joni Taylor Khatibi-Manesh.
Though Sherry was set to graduate from high school in 1975, her desire to marry her high school sweetheart pushed her to complete her studies and graduate from Lejeune High School in December 1974 with a 4.0 grade average.
In January 1975, Sherry and Eddie were married and began their life together as husband and wife. Not long afterwards they welcomed three beautiful children – Aimee, Chris, and Laura. Sherry loved being a mother, but as all mothers know, they grow up. So, once Chris started school, she decided to continue her education.
Apparently, motherhood did not dull her brain as she was able to pick up where she left off. She obtained her AA degree from Guildford Technical College in 1989, and a BS in Psychology and English (Double Major) from Guildford College in 1991 where she also served as Student Body Vice-President and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
She worked at the NC Employment Security Commission as an employment counselor from 1992 until 2003. Her beautiful smile and easy-going style served her well in this position.

Pansi Fountain Kilpatrick, age 67, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Graham and Nancy Fountain; sister, Tammi Albertson; brother, Jamie Fountain; and stepsister Mary Jo Brown.
Pansi is survived by her daughter, Courtney Tieman and husband Shane of Magnolia; sister Vicki Brown and husband Preston of Beulaville; stepsisters, Sandy Miller and Marsha Jones; grandchildren, Olivia Tieman, Hudson, Tieman, John Grant Tieman; aunt and uncle, Ella and Sherwood Fountain; nieces, Megan Kennedy and husband Shane, Brettany Coltrain and husband Edward, Cassidy Hobbs and husband Chase, Mallory Jones and husband Tony; nephew, Tyler Fountain; and nine great nieces and nephews.
