Phyllis Brown Condon, age 80, entered into her heavenly home on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at her residence in Beulaville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Pauline Brown, and her brother, Randall Brown of Beulaville, NC.
Born on July 13, 1945, Phyllis grew up in Beulaville and, after graduating from high school, moved to Washington, D.C., where she began her professional career with an office position at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During that time, she married Robert Condon and became the proud mother of her two sons, Shawn and Chris. She was an amazing, selfless, and deeply loving mother who dedicated her life to caring for her boys and giving them every opportunity she could. Her strength, sacrifices, and unconditional love shaped their lives in countless ways, and her devotion to them never wavered.
Following the end of her marriage, Phyllis returned to her hometown of Beulaville, where she built a meaningful and fulfilling life surrounded by family, friends, and community. She began a long and dedicated career as a caseworker with Duplin County Social Services, where her compassion and commitment touched countless lives. In addition to her work, she helped on the family farm and, even after retiring, continued to stay active, working part-time in her later years. She believed in staying busy, giving back, and finding happiness in helping others.
Phyllis was the heart of her family, a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt whose smile could light up any room. She never met a stranger and was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to share whatever she had with those in need. Her warmth and caring spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Shawn Condon and wife Amanda of Kinston, NC, and Christopher Condon and wife Emmy of Austin, TX; her brother Rabon Brown and wife Martha of Beulaville; five cherished grandchildren, Landon, Hannah, Emma, and Ella, and one more precious grandchild on the way; and her special niece and nephew, Tammy Brown and Douglas Brown, and their families.
Phyllis’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, service, and grace. Her gentle heart, kind words, and unwavering devotion to others will be remembered forever. She was truly an angel on earth, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
