Harold J. Byrd, age 86, died Saturday, August 29, 2026 at ECU Health Duplin Hospital in Kenansville. He is preceded in death by his wife, Violette Byrd, parents, Henry and Nancy Byrd; sisters, Iris Sanderson, Doris Williams, Dina Griffin, and brothers Morris Byrd, Dick Byrd, and Bill Byrd.
Mr. Byrd is survived by his daughter, Janice Cottle and husband Cameron of Pink Hill; son, Barry Byrd and wife Rita of Pink Hill; sisters, Peggy Williams and husband Frank of VA, Jean Cole of Beulaville, Hilda King and husband Bob of Pink Hill; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
